square twenty-five

I need to work on making the balloon look more like a balloon, don't you think?

When I'm stitching something like this I start with a sketch using an air erasable fabric marker in case I make mistakes. Here's the sketch for this one...

And here's how the whole sampler is looking...

It's a little wonky because it's stretched funny in the hoop...

  1. Looking great! Mine is a little wonky too, and I have no hoop to blame it on, just crooked stitching! LOL! OH well, I like it anyway.

  4. I'm lovin' your sampler-- super cute! I've never heard of an air erase marker. I might just have to find one of those!

  5. I personally love it. Even the wonkiness. I think it's what makes it special. But then again, being that I'm a little wonky myself, I may be partial.

  7. Thank you Amy! It's lovely to see the whole sampler again...and it's looking so beautiful. I think the balloon looks fine too :) I use a fine water erasable pen...it does fade over time, but when I finish stitching I flick some water droplets over the square, and it disappears in a flash and dries almost as fast!

  8. The bunny is so cute! I am loving, loving, loving this project. Even the mistakes and minor imperfections are starting to make it more special to me.

So don't fret. I need to work on circles and straight lines!!

  9. No, I don't think you need to make the balloon look more like a balloon. That's the charm. :) Could also pass for cotton candy. It's all good. :)

  10. Is this project going to stop at the 39th square? I would like to join but I think I came in too late.
