finished!

Here's my finished sampler...I'm loving it so much. Even the squares I didn't love so much at the time have a sweetness to them all nestled in. My favorites? the mary janes, the spools, the gumball machine, the bunny.

I had planned to make this into a pillow but it seems too small now...and some of the squares are too fragile to be touched or sat on. I think I'll make a shadow box for it...maybe out of a cigar box with spools for feet.

What are you going to do with yours? Share pictures! (amy (a) inspireco.com)

  1. This looks great! I love your idea with the shadowbox and spool feet. I have one more square to finish today. So, what's next? You just have to have another project for us. Thanks for hosting such a great project, I have met many new bloggers during the process.
    Hugs,
    Carey

  2. Beautiful! I looks just great. What a wonderful project. I'm just going to have to do one...perhaps with the number of squares for my age...a "few" more than yours. ;-)
Have a great day celebrating your accomplishment.

  4. Well done Amy! Your sampler is so beautiful, so clever, so inspiring :) Thank you so much for taking us all on this lovely journey. I started later than you, so still have quite a few squares to go, but will continue posting to the flickr group until I'm done.
I'm planning on having mine framed, as there is far too much work in it to be sat on/ thrown around etc by my family...and it will look beautiful on a wall in my bedroom :)
Congratulations again, you should be very proud!

  5. Congratulations, Amy! I've posted as far as I stitched on my blog today. The past two weeks have been a total bust as far as stitching is concerned - moving and unpacking have been the order of the day.
But I will finish this and I don't know quite what I'll do with it yet. Thank you for starting this and for inviting us to play along.

I'm looking forward to seeing your stitching shown off in a shadowbox!

I have too many other things on the go to have been stitching along with you but I've been following your progress and promising myself every day that I'm going to do something like this for my birthday in May. 17. Amy, your sampler turned out beautifully! I still have a couple more blocks to go... maybe by tonight I will be ready to post a pic of the finished sampler. I do plan to make a pillow from mine. I purposefully did not embellish for that very reason. What is your next project going to be? I need something new to work on.

  23. This is the cutest thing ever! You have such cute little things in that sampler, great colors too.
This is the second of these little square samplers I've seen. Both are just delightful. I am supposed to teach a hand embroidery class in June or July.....something like this would be a good way to break them in without scaring them thinking they're going to do a big sampler. They could choose to do little bits and pieces while I show them various ways to do different stitches. Cyndi

  28. Wow, I love it. It really turned out so lovely. The way you displayed it in the cigar box is so clever too. I'll have to see what I've got hanging around to display mine in, although mine is only about 1/2 done so far. Hopefully I will get more done this weekend!

  39. Your work is amazing!!very inspirational! The moment I saw your work I knew I wanted to attempt the same thing. I truthfully want to do one for myself but my bestfriend is getting married this August so I will again the key word is attempt to do it for her. What material is the background fabric? Do you think it's realistic of me to think I can make one and finish by end of July?
You have set my creative juices on FIRE!!II'm so excited to try this!

I loved your sampler so much I used it as an example on my blog, www.fiberluscious.blogspot.com. I'm beginning a sampler of my own and challenging my readers to "Come Stitch With Me".
I was wondering if you had any advice on creating a sampler. I would be happy to post them on my blog. I've already linked your image to your blog." Thanks so much for the inspiration!
